Just £950 for 5 x electric vehicle charging points. How?

electric vehicle charging points

How did a company retailing used books only pay £950 to install 5 x electric vehicle charging points?

Simple…

They asked us to access and claim the new government ‘fleet and employee’ EV charging grant.

This is where any company in England with less than 250 employees can claim £4250 in grants towards every 5 electric vehicle charging points they install. Up to the value of £15,000 per site.

Additionally, if a company is multi-site, they can claim up to £15,000 toward EV chargers across a maximum of 5 sites. Providing grants of up to £75,000 for multi-site companies.

Let’s get back to the used book reseller…

After providing a free consultation / survey the company choose a package including 5 fast wall fixed 7Kw EV chargers.

These electric vehicle charging points will provide up to 30-miles for each hour of charging, and are adequate for their needs, as their fleet and employees cars are usually at the workplace all day anyway.

The total cost for installing these 5 EV chargers is £6,200 including the dreaded Vat. But we’ve secured them a grant of £4250, and they can also claim back the whole Vat amount of £1,000.

Which leaves them a net price to pay of just £950! Which is amazing.
