Company gets £5,100 grant for EV chargers

Here’s how we helped Aware Digital secure £5,100 in grants to install electric car chargers…

You know we keep going and on about these new government grants, which companies with less than 250 employees can access to get up to £75,000 towards the cost of installing EV chargers.

Well, here’s another notable example…

Aware Digital are a digital agency who specialise in eCommerce, Magento and digital marketing services that drive conversions.

Besides being very experienced. What makes them different to some other agencies?

They don’t outsource work, and their team of developers are all based at their Stoke-on-Trent office, which is only 40 minutes from Manchester and Birmingham.

There ethos is remarkably like ours, as we don’t use sub-contractors either. All our installers are directly employed and highly trained in installing our full range of electric vehicle charge points.

Being at the forefront of technology, it’s no surprise that the leadership team at Aware Digital are early adopters of electric vehicle technology and keen to put in place an EV charging solution, which could cater for both company and employee vehicles now and in the future.

But to do this without financial help is expensive, and would mean installing 2 chargers, unlike the 6 which we’ve installed this week.

Aware Digital wanted super-fast 22kw chargers rather than the standard fast 7Kw chargers – as they charge 3X faster – which will allow all their employees to share them equally throughout the day.

These super-fast chargers are obviously more expensive than their 7Kw siblings. Add in 3 posts to house dual chargers, groundworks requiring crazy paving work with concrete pads, and long cable runs. It was a big job which required serious funding.

But by contacting Evolution SolutionsAware Digital were able to claim an £850 grant for each installed charger – which amounted to a total grant of £5100. And they can claim the whole Vat back too.

Including Vat, the whole project initial cost was £12,799.

But after we helped Aware Digital claim £5100 in grants, and they claimed the whole Vat (£2,133) back, their net cost was just £5,566.

This works out at just £927 for each installed charge point, and considering they are super-fast 22Kw chargers with groundworks, long cable runs, mounting posts and barriers, this is a great result.
